HOW FILM WITH YOUR SMARTPHONE LIKE A BOSS ? - 10 TIPS FOR MAKING A FILM WITH YOUR SMARTPHONE




- Use the provided video application. It can be independent or integrated into the photo function of your smartphone.



- Film rushes from 5 to 30 seconds. You will assemble them afterwards.



 - Take care of your lighting: if you are indoors, use a projector which has more power than household lamps. Make sure there isn't too much shadow contrast. If you are outside, soak up the sun. Make sure that it illuminates the subject to be filmed correctly.





- If you want to film yourself, it is better to call a friend to hold your smartphone for you. Absolutely avoid the selfie mode.



- Hold your smartphone horizontally to shoot in landscape format.



- equip yourself with a foot; which will further stabilize the image. You can also take a gyro-stabilized accessory. Feyu and Lanparte offers some.





- Also think of a microphone. This will result in better sound recordings. For that I invite you to record it on an external source.





- If you want to take close-ups on faces, make sure they are at least 3 seconds long.




- Speak, record what you have to say, but only one or two seconds after the start of the shoot. This is the best way to avoid rough cuts during the edit.



- Make sure you have enough space in your Smartphone to record your movie.

Osmo pocket, feedback on the experience after 1 year of use.

  As you know, I have been making high definition (4k) walking videos for over a year. Contrary to what one thinks for this kind of video, I opted for a very simple, light,  and easy to use equipment. Quite simply, I am not a photographer, nor videographer, nor professional film maker. I have my job as an employee so the time is very tight to do my shoots.  I must therefore be efficient. But very very efficient. no time to waste to assemble my equipment on site and to think about multiple settings on the camera etc. You have to be operational at all times.
